About Our Rippon Buff Indian Sandstone Range Rippon Buff Indian sandstone is one of the warmest natural paving stones on the UK market — a rich blend of golden yellows, soft oranges, creamy beige, and occasional grey and pink undertones that brightens any garden and softens even the most modern architecture. Where Kandla Grey suits cool, contemporary schemes, Rippon Buff brings warmth, life, and character — making it the go-to choice for traditional gardens, cottage properties, and anyone who wants their patio to feel inviting rather than minimal. Our Rippon Buff Indian sandstone range starts from £21/m² with free UK-wide delivery. We stock Rippon Buff in two finishes (riven and sawn & honed) and multiple formats (patio packs, 900x600, 600x600, and 600x300), so you can choose the texture and size that matches your project — whether that's a classic country patio or a contemporary warm-toned terrace. Choose sawn & honed if you want the same warm Rippon Buff colour palette in a sleek, flat finish with precise edges — ideal next to bifold doors, modern extensions, or contemporary garden furniture. What Colours Are In Rippon Buff Sandstone? Rippon Buff is not a single colour — it's a naturally occurring blend that varies from slab to slab. Expect to see golden yellow as the dominant tone, with soft oranges, creamy beige, occasional grey veining, and subtle pink or lavender undertones depending on the batch. No two slabs are identical, which is what gives Rippon Buff patios their warmth and visual depth. This natural variation means your patio will look different from the product photos — and that's the point. We always recommend working from multiple packs simultaneously when laying, to distribute the colour variation evenly across the whole area. Sawn & honed (smooth) finishes start from £24/m². Single-size 900x600 slabs are typically £1–2/m² more than patio packs of the same finish. Is Rippon Buff the same as Camel Dust sandstone? They're very similar — both sit in the warm buff/golden colour family and are sometimes referred to interchangeably. In practice, Rippon Buff tends to show more orange and pink variation, while Camel Dust leans slightly more towards green and brown tones. Both are Indian sandstone from the same quarrying regions. Does Rippon Buff sandstone fade in sunlight? All natural sandstone mellows slightly over time as it weathers, but Rippon Buff doesn't fade dramatically. The warm golden tones tend to soften and develop a natural patina, which most homeowners consider an improvement rather than fading. Sealed Rippon Buff retains its original colour intensity for longer. Does Rippon Buff need sealing?Sealing is recommended, particularly for patios used for dining and entertaining. A breathable sealant helps protect against food, drink, and garden furniture stains, and preserves the colour depth. Unsealed Rippon Buff will weather naturally and develop a softer, more muted appearance over time. What size Rippon Buff paving should I choose? For traditional random-pattern patios, the patio pack (mixed sizes) gives the best value and the most authentic look. For a cleaner, more contemporary finish, 900x600 single-size slabs laid in a stretcher bond pattern work well. The patio pack typically offers the best value per square metre. Can I mix Rippon Buff with other sandstone colours?Yes — Rippon Buff works particularly well as a main patio colour with Kandla Grey setts or cobbles as border edging, creating warm-and-cool contrast. Mixing with Raj Green can work but produces a busier visual effect — best tested with samples first. Is Rippon Buff suitable for a driveway?Standard 22mm Rippon Buff slabs are designed for patios and pedestrian areas. For driveways, we recommend sandstone cobbles or setts (40–50mm thick) which distribute vehicle load more effectively. See our driveway paving collection for suitable options. Do you deliver Rippon Buff sandstone across the UK?Yes. Free UK mainland delivery on all Rippon Buff orders, dispatched from our Nottingham yard within 2–5 working days. Kerbside pallet delivery via tail-lift lorry.
