There is a good reason Heartseeker Rogues are showing up so often in Season 14 Pit groups. The skill doesn't ask you to stand still and line up perfect shots; it tracks targets, keeps firing, and turns a messy room into something manageable. A well-rolled set of D4 items helps the build come online much earlier, but its real appeal is how it plays. You're always moving, enemies are getting locked down, and critical hits keep landing while the arrows jump from one threat to the next. In Pit 100 and beyond, that pace matters more than flashy one-hit clips.

Make Heartseeker feel like a main skill
Heartseeker starts as a Basic Skill, so plenty of players underestimate it at first. That changes once Attack Speed and Critical Strike Chance are pushed hard. More shots mean more chances to crit, more Lucky Hit rolls, and more opportunities to spread Freeze through a pack. It's not complicated, but it is relentless. You'll notice the difference when elites stop reaching you because they're frozen before they can finish an attack. The build works best when you treat every gear choice as part of that loop: fire faster, crit more often, and keep targets under control long enough to finish them.

Stats that actually earn their slot
It's easy to chase every damage number on a tooltip, though this setup rewards a tighter approach. Attack Speed and Critical Strike Chance should lead the way, followed by Critical Strike Damage and Vulnerable Damage. Lucky Hit Chance deserves real attention too. Without enough of it, Freeze feels inconsistent, and the whole build becomes less safe in crowded rooms. Paragon Boards should support those same priorities rather than adding random bonuses that look nice on paper. Keep an eye on these checkpoints while tempering and masterworking.

Raise Attack Speed until Heartseeker's firing rhythm feels constant.
Build Critical Strike Chance before leaning too heavily into critical damage.
Use Lucky Hit effects that help apply Freeze or other useful Crowd Control.
Choose Glyphs that reward damage against Vulnerable, Controlled, or Frozen enemies.
Staying alive when the Pit gets rough
Freeze buys time, but it won't save a Rogue who ignores defenses. High Pit tiers can punish one bad dodge, especially around elite affixes and boss mechanics. Armor, capped Resistances, Damage Reduction, Barriers, and Dodge Chance all have a job here. Shadow Step and Dash are more than travel buttons; use them to break away, reposition, or dodge a telegraphed hit. Don't burn both movement skills just to shave a second off a clear. A live Rogue keeps shooting, and that's where the damage comes from.

Room to keep improving
This build has a satisfying upgrade path because small changes are easy to feel. Better temper rolls, stronger Masterworking hits, and smarter affix replacements can turn a decent setup into a serious Pit pusher. Players hunting cheap D4 items can focus on pieces with useful offensive rolls first, then fill in defensive gaps as their Pit level rises. Once the crit, speed, and Freeze cycle is running smoothly, Heartseeker remains quick enough for farming and tough enough for demanding endgame runs.
