Quite often, that seems to nudge a Deep Cover zone into spawning. If it still doesn't show, clear another one or move around nearby for a minute. It's not instant every time. That's the annoying part. But once you understand the spawn rhythm, you stop wasting ten minutes staring at the map like it owes you money.



Spotting the hidden Shifter
Once you're inside the yellow zone, slow down a bit. You're hunting a prop, not a glowing enemy marker. It might be a box, a chair, a medical cart, or some bit of junk that looks almost normal. The sound is the giveaway. Stand still and listen for a dry rattling noise, like something's shifting around where it shouldn't be. Get too close and the object will snap into a Shifter. If the zone is inside a building, you may get lucky and have it reveal itself as soon as you step through the doorway.



Dropping Shifters without wasting ammo
Shifters fight a lot like Mimics, so don't spray at their whole body unless you've got ammo to burn. Aim for the glowing mouth. That's where the damage really counts.
